11” x 60”
by Rosalie Campbell
Rosalie hand dyes silk scarves using a process called Shibori, an ancient Japanese dye process in which she shapes cloth by pinching, pleating, stitching, wrapping and folding and securing these shapes by knotting, binding and clamping. Dye and/or bleaching agents are then applied to the scarf while it is in these forms.
Rosalie is a Dayton area native and retired from Teradata. She and her husband, also an artist, are long-time DVAC Members and reside in Centerville.
